Artist Bio: Vanessa is an illustrator and graphic designer from Singapore.

Initially a self-taught illustrator, she then pursued further studies at Nanyang

Technological University (NTU)’s School of Art, Design and Media. Since then, she has been given opportunities to share her art through arts markets, collaborations, and commissions for different companies and brands.

Artwork Description: Tranquillo is the restorer of rest and bringer of break times. From the word “tranquiliser”, Tranquillo has the power to free people from worry and establish a sense of calmness. According to legend, they were once an average office worker, so overworked they began dabbling in extreme self-care routines and rejuvenating concoctions.

An experiment involving extra-strong suntan lotion and expired kombucha led to an explosion, giving them strange powers like clairvoyance, extrasensory perception to detect and answer the calls of the most tired and overworked.

However, sceptics also predict a potential flaw of the superhero - with the task of constantly tending to people, wouldn’t they be overworked once again?
